small popping noise

small popping noise

whenever i left off the gas and let my motor rev down and shift anytime in vtec i hear small popping out of the exhaust...what is causing that? do i need new sparkplugs???

i think is the extra fuel from vtec being burnt in the exhaust. I don't think it is anything to worry about.

but it also pops when i am winding down all the way to 2000 rpms

Are you by chance running an Apex N1 exhaust? I sometimes have the same thing happen to me when I am running it without the baffle..
