Does anybody know anything about the Skunk2 Stage 3 cams? How much power they make. Anybody know of any dyno plots on them?

I have the same question, I know its not good to run the stage 3's on the street, but is it possible? or will I blow my motor

 

you can run SK2 stage III on the street.... it's all in the tuning. I'm not a SK2 fan so I don't have dynos sorry. But the same technology applies to all high lift/duration cams.

 

i dont think your valvetrain will ba ble to handle that high of a lift cam for very long. thats why its recomended for race only.

 

plus it doesn't idle well

 

I know a guy who has it. He drives it fine. I dont' know how long it will last, but for the time being, it's strong.

Plan on removing your stereo, it'll skip like a bitch.

 

I know everyone here hates clubsi... however the B-Series VTEC cam guide posted over there is pretty informative.

 

We don't hate ClubSi.com.....afterall, they have great **** posts in their "Out There" forum!!!

 

You can definetly drive them on the street. However I wouldn't daily drive on them. But like others have said you need the valvetrain to run those high lift cams. As far as Idle goes I have heard some with a rough bouncy idle and others that idle fine. It's all in the tuning/setup of the engine I believe.

 

I run skunk stage 3's and drive my car daily. idles fine, runs fine, all the power is there..........portflow valvetrain! no problems yet, been almost a year now

anyone dyno'd sk2 stage 2's vs. stage 3's in the same configured motor to see the difference?

 

Mine runs great and idles fine and I drive it every day!
But my compression is to low for them and I lost 12tq. and .5hp over my old stage 1's

Funny you say this! Omniman from Skunk2 said the Stg III off Vtec lobes are the same as SI cams. Search in Clubsi
