Default skunk2 manifold b18c1 gsr ?

If i use the skunk2 intake manifold with my 94 gsr motor do i have to use a type r computer? Will the GSR computer work and not throw any codes because of the dual butterflies? Im trying to get this engine together and I didnt want to run into any problems and I only have the gsr computer. Any help would be great.

Use the P72 ECU. It's impossible to throw an IAB code b/c there isn't one. Wrap up and secure the connector to the harness and that's it.

Just as IN VTEC said you can use the stock P72 and it'll work fine... I would however recommend just running a chipped P28 or the like... I personally HATE the stock GSR computer as the VTEC is too low and the mapping is ****... You really need to feel the difference between even an ITR ECU and the GSR... I assume you have an OBDI chassis so I definately wouldn't recommend using an OBDI-OBDIIa jumper to run a '97-99 ITR ECU but there is a lot of difference...

Once I got my skunk2 manifold on, I had to run on the stock p72 ecu for a day or so.. It ran like complete ***. It will get you from point A to B. It feels normal until 4400rpm when vtec engages and then falls on it's face. The car just gets louder and doesn't move at all. Now I'm running a chipped p28 from iH8RICERZ and it runs beautifully.

what is a p28 from where can I get one? I know **** about the computers. So the b18c1 will suck with a gsr computer and a skunk2 intake manifold? Let me know more info please.

Yeah the b18c1 w/ skunk mani and a stock ecu will be about as fast as a d15 swap.

p28 ecu is from some sohc vtec cars...I've heard a stock p28 will run just as poorly as a stock p72, but once the p28 is chipped it works very well on the dohc motors. I got my ecu from iH8RICERZ here on h-t. IM him or search for some of his threads, hes a good guy. its $185 shipped for a p28 with your choice of program. I'm running his custom all motor chip and I like it, its a little rich like any chip, but with tuning it should be great (5700 VTEC, 9000 REDLINE).
