skunk2 chipped p72 question?

I have a skunk chipped p72 im finishing ls vtec my friend who knows a lot about honda told me that i might not need a knock sensor because of the skunk2 chip is this true?

i got a skunk2 chip that i never used and, yes it does remove the knock sensor. that was the main reason i got it since i broke mine.
