Default which size straight edge should i get?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i wanted to get a new straight edge, most likely from snap on. snap on is somewhat affordable and has pretty good quality craftsmanship.

i am kinda limited in starage space so im not sure what size i should get.

for the all around jobs on japanese cars from 4 cylinders to 6 cyl, should i get the 18 inches or the 24 inches.

personally i dont see any 8 cylinders in the future from any of the regular japanese manufacturers and i will not ever venture into american cars, so i dont think i need the 36 incher.

with the 18 inch it would store much easier at my location, but i dont want to be short sighted and need to buy another one. pricing is about 10 bucks off so its not the cost at this point.

should i get the 24 inch or will i never need it?

IMO 24 inch...if it bothers you that much down the road you can always cut it
