Im cutting my piston rings and i lubed the cylinder walls with wd40 and put a good amount in there. When i put the ring in the gapped seem smaller than usual, so i wiped alot of the wd40 out and the gapped opened up a bit. Which one seems right? Should i gap it based on a thin layer of lube or alot. It seems kinda dumb, but i dont wana make the wrong descision.
