You could use a turbo timmer or a pactr17 to do the job

Ditto the above^^^.

You can also install a thermo switch, the question is why?

What is the MM&Y of the car you want to do this in. 94

Are you running into over-heating problems?

The stock system, [thermostat and "Engine Coolant Temperature Switch"] will not allow engine coolant to go above about 190 degrees F, if over-heating is an issue you should fix the problem not band-aid it.

However, all you need is a small 1A SPST switch, [on/off switch] and some 18 -20 gauge wire, about $5, connect one terminal to chassis ground and the other to the "Radiator Fan Relay", [same terminal as the "Engine Coolant Temperature Switch" is connected to, probably a green lead. 94

I used a Flex-a-Lite 31147 Adj. Temp Sensor.

with the power source connected to a non-switched source (battery) the fan will stay on even after the ignition is turned off, until the radiator reaches the set temperature.

i've done this you will end up with battery problems getting discharged so quick...

use the alarm so you can turn it on or off from the remote anytime.

It would be worthless only because the coolant is not flowing. Now a turbo timer would be more conventionalonly because the car wont have any load on it and will still flow coolant to the block!

edit: NOw that im thinking about the most you can do is lower the underhood temp by pushing the hot air out.

OIC, after you turn off the ign., you did not say that in your first post.
A simple switch will not work.

An adjustable thermal switch as I and tilegend mentioned would work, but as mentioned it will only cool the engine coolant in the rad, and as also mentioned you could run into low batt. problems.

If your not having a problem you should not be trying to fix it, you may end up with problems, I mean why mess with a system that is working? 94

While parked, I would want my car's engine to remain as hot as possible, to reduce the added fuel consumption and wear of the warm up cycle.

That said, when I purchased my Triumph Spitfire, the previous owner had simply rigged up a kitchen timer in the glove box to run the fan after the ignition was killed. The fan was powered when either the temp sensor registered heat (engine on) or when the timer was set (regardless of ignition). Simple parallel circuit, $5 in hardware.

i know its you lol
my car is good trying to get in the 11s....soon
on topic
i got the viper 5900sst

i connected the fan with a relay to one of the options available on my car alarm
(most car alarm comes with extra features via relay)
after each run i set the turbo timer 2-3min thereafter turn on the fan from my remote
start a plus to keep the heat away it really works great
oohh yeah my car has remote start 5spd ...FTW!

the wiring is very simple....
