Hey can you guys get any slop or play out of your steering when at a stop. When im at a stop and i wiggle my steering wheel left to right im gettin a clonking noise from down in the rack. Also i have no road feel or front end stability feel. All my suspension is within spec. Any ideas? I have a 91 crx.

Same problem with my 93 hb. It is the rack, but in my case it was a pw steering rack and I just took off the pw steering without connecting the two fluid exchange opeings. The fluid run out and after a while the rack broke. Just get a new rack, one with better ratio if you are going to do it anyway.

 

same thing on my 88.

Turns out 2 bolts on the rack that connected it to the car were loose.
