Shot peening rods
I'm pretty sure Crower rods already come shot peened, but my problem is I bought a used set (used for about 1,000 miles) and wanted to know if shot peening is something you do once, or can you do it again after use, for an increase in strength. Would it be worth it to shot peen and polish a used set of Crowers? I'd rather be safe than sorry.
no leave them alone!
just have your machine shop check the big and small end bores to make sure they are still round (which they should be) and use them. maybe for safety you could get new rod bolts...i would at-least do that.
once the rods are forged they don't need to be peened again.
