shot peening rods??????
how important is it to have this done. what i have is a z6 motor and a set of pm7 rods and pistons. i was told that i should have the rods shot peened. i have also had some people tell me that with what i will be running basic i/h/e that i won't need to have them shot peened. but i do drive a bit hard so i want to make sure that the motor stays together.

Re: shot peening rods?????? (FMIDRC Racer)
shot peening is just shooting little BB's at the rods and relieving stress, so to speak.
This along with heat treating and beam polishing is a good cheap combo to make your stock rods like new again, if not stronger.
It's not necessary....but it would be wise.
