Shift Points
sup,
i was wondering what are your shift points through gears. i have a b16 w/ bolt ons and act, incase it matters. ive always been driving where i shift at 3000, so as im going 45 i would be in 5th gear. although one of my friends told me that isnt good for the engine because i am overpowering the gears or something. he said since my **** revs high, i could be shifting at 4000-4500 rpms. when are your shift points during yuour daily driving? thanks

i have a b16 in my rex, daily driving shifting out a 2k-2.5k...... nothing wrong, just dont forget to say hi to vtec once in a while..
..
i have this feeling, if i took a brand new b16 and never took it over 3k, it would last F O R E V E R!

But what a waste of a great engine!
I shift at 2k or 2.5 if I'm tooling through traffic (yay B18 torque) and rev when I need to. You can't damage the gears with a B16 by "overpowering" them. Think of how much power that motor has at 3k rpm. 60ft/lbs maybe?
Keep shifting like you're shifting. And once again, another kick in the nuts is earned from someones "friend".
