I installed my shift light but it stays on. I've got the ground to the chassis. Green wire to the test tach wire. And i've attached the red to ign1. It stayed on so i switched it to ign2, but no luck. Any ideas?

 

an aftermarket tach? I don't know which tach you got, but a lot of times they have a **** on them that you can turn to set it. try pushing the **** (if you have one) then turning it.

 

You may have the wrong RPM wire hooked up and its getting a constant misreading. Check your wiring...
