you are better off getting only thats already lightened... the new aftermarket one will probably going to cost you as much as.. lightening away a stock one......

Take it to a machine shop or someone who has a brake rotor lathe big enough to handle the flywheel and let'em go to work on it. You can get about 3-4 pound off of the stock one without running into problems. They should charge you about $80-140.

getting your stock one lightened is going to be a LOT cheaper than getting an aftermarket one. although an aftermarket one will be lighter. Expect to pay $300-$400 for an aftermarket flywheel. And expect to pay no more than $160 to have your stock one lightened, balanced and resurfaced. Just don't take too much weight off of it. After its down to about 12lbs the strength is questionable.

sorry.. but for my opion.. $300+?? where are you pulling these prices out of.... he is not asking for a full blown flywheel... im sure hes asking for a decent 12-15 lbs one.. and for that weight.. it will definetly not going to cost him 300-500

for 300-500... you are comparing it to toda, spoon, fidanza,

but for 150-200... you can easily find one from act and companys like that..
i got from act and i didnt spend 200+ for it.

thats my thought in it.....

Ok stupid question.
Let's say I have 12 lbs flywheel in my car. How does it feel compare to 8 lbs flywheel? What's best for street driver with occasional drag race?

the best bet is to go 12 lbs.... its much lighter then stock and you wont have to worry about having a horrible low end... rough ride and ****..... but ppl been going 8 lbs... but no complaints from them... so i guess its up to preference and your setup
