Shaking problem when touching the brakes
Heya !
Just finished installing the front and rear conversion on the hatch. Rear disc and front integra knukles with ITR redrilled to 4x100 rotors and ITR calipers. Had to use a 3mm spacer between the hub and the disc to make it fit.
Ok problem is that over 60 mph, when I hit the brake, the steering shakes a lot. It looks like rotors aren't straight.
Here are my hypothesis, do share how you see my problem :
1. The spacer makes the disc sits uneven on the hub.
Solution : Use a 3mm (machined) washer on each of the front studs (8 total). (edited : the spacer is already supposed to be 3mm and balanced.......)
2. The fact that the rotor isn't hubcentric with the non-itr knukle. (this has been considered when the machine shop redrilled the rotors and the space between the hub and the rotor looks pretty even (mesured but it is hard to be precise, even with a digital galiper).
Solution : Have some metal ring made; exterior diameter = to sit tapper into the itr disc and the interior diameter = to sit perfectly on the hub.
3. The rotor is simply uneven ? (It is a brand new Altrom Ultra 8 rotor, never installed).
This causes me serious headache. Any input will be appreciated
Patrick who's been scratching his head a lot lately
EDITED :
Forgot to add this :
- Hubs were both cleaned up so they're total flat
- Problem comes from the front (duh), when holding the handbrake as the same speed, it doesnt shake.
- lugs were torqued !

ITR rotor : 28$
Prelude vtec rotor : 67$
I'll have the current rotor "turned" by whom redrilled them. We'll see.
