Default Searched and searched Some Vtec problems

well i got a 93 bubble with a d16 vtec motor. It was already swapped when i bought it, but it didnt come with a distributer for the d16 vtec, but with a regular SOHC disty. Well now i got my Vtec distributer and i am wondering after i put on the distributor how the hell to enable vtec?? Im new to the honda game so dont hate on me lol asking these questions

I just want to know what i actually need? I got a Del Sol parts car with a d16 vtec motor in it so i want to know what i should take out of it to enable vtec on my car...

There is a vtec selonoid that is to the front of the head next to the distributor that engages vtec.

ha.... First of all, the solinoid previously mentioned is on the back of the head by the intake manifold on a single cam. Second, If your distributor that was on your was working and made your motor run, it shouldn't have affected vtec. Are you throwing any cel's? In order to have vtec working, which in a sohc isn't anything to get your skirt blown up over, you have to have the right ecu.. have it wired correctly, and not be throwing any major codes. And your speed sensor must be operating.
