Default Sealers?

What brand do you use beside Hondabond? Say like sealers you can pick up at your local auto part stores- Pep, Autozone, Advance, etc...?

Im looking for a decent price sealer that work well and also look clean afterward.

I use Subaru sealer because I can get it cheap. Easy to apply and does not apply on oily surfaces too well, which makes you clean it good before you apply it to ensure a good seal. It is also very easy to clean off.

Permatex ultra gray. It's the same thing as Hondabond. You'll never know the difference. 99.99999% of the members on this site use Permatex ultra gray.

Not the same thing as Hondabond, but it works as good if not better.

Splitting apart tranny cases sealed with Hondabond is easy, those I've sealed with Ultra Grey = a challenge

Honestly, who cares if it's not chemically identical to Hondabond?! It's close enough that it doesn't matter. I've never met anyone in all my life who even once used genuine Hondabond.

OP asked for a substitute, I told her the substitute. Permatex Ultra Grey.

I've noticed that too... The hondabond pulls away too easily in my opinion. I've experienced engine oil and trans fluid both leaking past the hondabond before. Never had any problems with Permatex. Of course it sucks more when you need to scrape it off
