D16z6 using a MSD cap with external coil. Everything worked perfect till I installed a MSD sci ignition now it will start and run perfect...shift light is working, rev limiter is right on, idles smooth etc. Turn it off and try it again and, just cranks...but ocasionally it will start back. I dunno what coud be the problem. The directions are very clear, only like 6 wires to hook up 1 to constant 12v, 2 to the coil, and 2 to the dizzy and 1 to ground. Have a bad box?? I just thought I'd ask here before calling them to see what could be wrong.

 

MSD is totally useless and unreliable. Do yourself a favor and get rid of it.

You're probably going to see a lot of "Throw it in the trash and go back to stock ignition" responses, because it really is good enough for most applications. Unless you're making some serious power, don't bother with it [MSD]. If you are, it seems the M&W ignition box is the hot **** these days.

 

Is it possible that the ICM just so happend to start to go bad when the MSD was installed? Do they go out at once or, die a slow death?
