I'm really interested in leartning about how to work on cars. I read every possible magazine about cars that I can but I still have no experience working on cars. I was really wondering if there's somewhere I can go to not only learn basic mechanic skills but more advanced things such as turbo installs and more importantly tuning. Thanks.

 

Some community colleges have decent programs, at least you will have access to the tools. I did the Ford Asset program here, where you take the courses and at the end, they will guarantee you a job with Ford. I don't know if it's available everywhere. I didn't end up working for Ford, but I did learn a lot and got a lot of hands on experience on different types of motors. It's not as good as some of the technical schools out there but a hell of a lot cheaper.
