Default Sand down rod and main bearings ok..........?!?

Is it ok to sand down some main and rod bearings?!? there are VERY VERY LITTLE scratches on em and i took them to a machine shop and they said its ok because it wasnt anythin major, just use 1000 grit sandpaper i believe thats what he said, anyone done this before of what yall think?

The scratches are better than anything you can do to them with sandpaper.Just leave the scratches.Use them as is or replace them.

all the sandpaper is gonna do is embedd sand particals into the bearing, this may scratch the crank. dont ever touch it with sandpaper, get new bearings for the little that they cost.

the markings on the bearings are there for a reason... non oil pressure starts, power thrust and other causes. If you sanded the bearings you woulcd be changing clearances and it would be rough on your crank.
