Default is it safe to use less more layers of head gaskets

I want to raise or lower my compression depending on what pistons i get so is that safe and how much does it lower or raise the compression if u remove or add a layer

Just use the Y8 gasket and get the pistons made to the compression you want.

However, no, different layer gaskets will not harm your performance.

Unless you get crazy like 13:1 comp pistons on a 3 layer gasket then drop in a 1 layer and your tuning isn't right.
