While I wait for the new Techedge WB controller to become available, I've decided to run my B16a CRX in Open Loop (hondata). I've noticed a rise in gas consumption but also the response is superior then when in closed loop.
Any harm running like this for a while?
Thanks!

unless you have 2 o2 sensors in the rightplaces, then open loop is the best way to
go with those ecus. partial throttle will bemuch better. you should be fine for awhile
until you get your wideband, and once you tune the partial throttle you wont need
closed loop again.

When in open loop (car is cold), the ECU doesn't take any signals from the O2 sensor. The ECU purposely runs the car more rich because the cold engine needs more fuel to run and warm up. But, under wide open throttle, the computer uses a fuel/timing map that was buened in it. Basically the computer defaults to a certain map under WOT and closed or open loop doesn't matter.
If your car is running better under open loop it sounds like it needs some more fuel under normal operating conditions. This is common when you add an intake or exhaust and you have more air entering and exiting an engine and need more fuel to go with it. Lean engines feel less powerful.
