I recently purchased a used 2000 Civic EX / 40,000 miles. Experienced lacked of power as if you would with Hwy patrol behind you, but actully I had my foot burried the gas padel to the floor... The car felt as if the gas padel was pushed only 1/2. The performance or lack of performance shown the most when traveling at low speed of 20 ~ 30 mhp. When gas padel was pushed to the floor, transmission did not down shift to 2 nd gear. I had driven other Civic EX with the same auto. transmission, most other Civic EX would down shift from 4/OD to 3rd. or oven 2nd gear without much drama especially when gas padel is pushed to the floor at vehicle speed below 55 mph. My 2000 Civic EX would only downshifted from 4/OD to 3 rd at seed of 50 mph instead of 2 nd. gear, shift point would be at 6,000 RPM max. ( Other EX would hold shift point to its 7000 RPM max.)

The car shown no check engine code when tested, just a steady check engine light on. Negative batter terminal has been disconnected many times to clear any possibloe error code, but found no code at all. All the tune up were done, Distributor cap & rotor, oil & filter, K&N airfilter, fuel filter, Platinum sparkplugs also has helped raised max engine speed from 5,500 to 6,000 RPM.

How could I get a fuel pressue reading without cutting and Tee into a fuel line just afte fuel filter to obtain a pressure reading of fuel going into fuelrail & injectors?
What is a normal fuel pressure reading on Civic EX ?
