Default Re: RT-AWD MB8 Aerodeck,

Hey guys, it has being a while since was stopped in the traps of the fate,
had plenty of mishaps that happened to my most beloved.
Couple of days after my last post had a severe accident and the right side of the car was a close call to be totaled. Althou It was fixed back then, there is some substantial damage due inappropriate anti corrosion treatment.
Closelly after I blew up the engine, spun a rod bearing. A local workshop fixed it, sadly it never ran as it used to remember it. So far one lovely Spring Sunday morning I take it over apart.
Another struck of luck again. This time health issues of my son had to be attended and left the project aside.
A year or so later every time I look from the window, my trouble minded soul could not have a rest looking at my favorite car in peril of mother nature's mercy.
I could spare some cash to the project now and then. But the crucial decision to dedicate a specific budged paid well on the long run. Decided to dedicate no less than 125 Euros per month. for tools, spare parts, goodies, all for a grater goal, the engine upgrade. Had to give up smoking, buzz, night life, you name it.
A week after his 5th birthday, my son showed my the picture of a car he liked... It was a sort of local legend of my youth, actually it was the first I wanted to have but never got the cash to pay, 2 days later we got tis for dirty cheap by nowadays standards

Pocket Яocket CЯX ...

Well that broke too,
currently building a new engine for it as well. Mini Frankenstein D14Z Short block with D16Z DOHC head... And rev it to the Skies! By the way, you wouldn't guess how well Valves from 1st gen CRV fit in!
I will be posting a new thread for that build since it is very funny to work on such a tiny thing, it is almost a bike sized engine... my hand does not fit in to wet the sleeves, my wife jokes a lot about that, and where and why "can't put my hands..."

But back to the B18C, I had to make it work one way or the other, and suddenly Parts started piling quicker after increasing the budged to 250 Euro in the Covid 19 Era! Self confinement suited me so well. had plenty of time to prepare a little workshop in my miniscule basement.
B18C6 Type Я +0.5 pistons and rings, Type Я valves and springs, Stage 2 Street, Full rebuild kit all gaskets, Taiho Main and Rod bearings. New Oil and Water pump, many more funny stuff such as an ultra long geared F series N2A5 gearbox from Euro Accord. At a moment the block was re-bored/honed and conserved, Crankshaft measured polished and balanced.

And then last week a guy shows up to sell me an H22A for 250 Quaid...

Should I go H to B (CRV XBSM box) ?

See ya soon!

for the CRX? I like the B series, you have a b18c? perfect.

Good to see you're still posting, I always come across your posts talking about fuel tanks, same way I ended up posting here now. Question for you, will a 96-00 orthia fuel cell bolt in perfectly under a 6th gen hatchback? Perfect fit to floor, not lower the diff too much? Nothing ever comes up on my searches, I don't see anybody using this tank in their awd conversions.
