RPM Jumping erratically - g1TEG
Hey I've pretty much looked all over for ideas and Im coming to you guys for some more. 87 Integra with D16A8 milled head cam gears advanced 4o 450cc Injectors running off a S-AFC at - 40%. Driving the other day and my rpm needle starts acting funny. If I'm above the 3200 rpm range it starts bouncing higher. Then seems to come back down to actual and the repeat. If i get any higher then put it into nuetral it jumps all the way into the redzone but I get no pull, and the engine only winds up slightly. Ok so here is what is done so far to remedy the situation. It's not the clutch slipping beacuse it does this in nuetral, the alternator checks good (by battery pull only), swapped out the dizzy for another "used" one, changed plugs/wires, and the coil now. Cleaned the injectors and throttle body. Don't see/hear any vacuum leaks. It cannot be the cluster as the S-AFC reads the same. ANd now today when I stepped on her to get up and go she lagged and bogged on me like crazy. I did notice she finally gave up and die, but i think it was due to the coil wire I spliced into for the S-AFC was loose. I fixed that by just clamping them back together. But she is still rpm dancing......\
ANY BODY, ANY IDEAS???? P.s. I believe the ground wires are all okay! Next check will be the iacv but I doubt it as I heard the car can run on just the S-AFC with no iacv connected. dunno*
