Rough Idle and Coil questions.
Is there a difference between a Honda Coil and a Pep Boys coil?
The reason for the question:
I bought my car and it had a brand new ignition coil. However, it seems like I am getting weak ignition and some roughness at idle. I say I am getting weak ignition because after putting in New NGK plugs and checking back after about 1000 miles the plugs have a BLACK sotty coating of carbon. I had the dealer look at it and of course they said the non-honda coil was the problem.
Do you guys think that buying a Honda coil makes a diffrence.
D16a6 with 97k miles
Compresion between 140 and 150 in all 4 cyl.
new NGK plugs
new Accel wires
New cap and rotor. (Pep boys)
