rotor screws
What is the best way to remove the rotor screws on my car? I have heard I need an impact screwdriver but can I just use a 18 volt cordless drill with a phillips bit and take it out just as easy?

if you want to strip the screws use the 18V drill. spray the screws with pb blaster then use a 4 lb hammer to beat on the impact screwdriver.

You can buy an impact screwdriver for ~$20 at sears.

Impact drivers work best on those. Try using a flatblade screwdriver and and hammer. Angle your screw driver on the screw and beat it with a hammer and try to walk it out. They're not really required. I was told that it was used during manufacturing. Kinda like most domestics have that spring clip on their rotors.

How do you do that? The bolt head would have to be recessed into the rotor so it doesn't interfere with the mating surface for the rim.
Like others said.....this is a guaranteed way to get them out

If you are replacing the rotor, use a dremel tool with with a cutoff wheel and cut a slot into the head of the screw. Then use a slot screwdriver to get it out. You may nick up the rotor, but it works like a charm. Or use the impact driver=cheap
dont even waste time, get a 3/8 drill bit and drill em out, then i found i can simply turn whats left when i take the rotor off with a pliers, go buy new screws and put a bunch off anti-sieze on them

Impact drivers goes both ways. make sure you have it turning the right way. My suggestion would be to use the impact driver. thats what it was made to do. Drill only if its your last option. i like the idea about slotting it for a big flat head screwdriver.
