Roller setup in my d16y7?? compatability question..
I have a d15z1 head laying around, I think that is the code, its the vtec-e engine. I was looking and it seems that the head is set up like my non-vtec d16y7. I see that this motor has rollertype rocker arms, and was wondering if this would work on my d16, since I am pulling the assembly off to put a mild cam in my car.
I figure it wouldnt give me any noticeable gain, but it could help in the longrun, I know how the physical rule with roller setups being less drag on the valvetrain, releiving stress from the entire rotating assembly.
Just a technical "i wonder" I guess. Elaborations would be greatly appreciated.

Typically, you need a different cam profile specifically for roller rockers.
If you compare the curve of the pads on the stock rockers, you will see that there is a larger diameter curve. A roller would be a couple of inches around to have the same curve.
I thought the VTEC-E head geometry was different as well...although I have been wrong before...
