Default Rod question

I've got an LS engine with a bent rod sitting in my garage at home that i'm looking to get running since the engine in my car is on it's last leg (also an LS). Now, i'm curious i looking into getting rods just to run a small turbo on the engine just to have a fun daily car/reliable. is there any upside to having type R rods over stock LS rods?

i've heard of stock LS's pushing reliable boost all the time, but would the Type R rods be a benfit or not? i'm not sure what are the differences between the two.

also should i upgrade the rings at all? i plan on replacing them, but should i go better than stock, or just stock. the engine probably won't ever see ridiculously high HP numbers.

just get some eagle rods. They are pretty cheap to get and are more than enough for what you want to do.

buy a set of eagle rods.....great rods for the price.

type r rods are different length....they wont fit the LS engine/crank unless you use a type-r/gsr crank as well.

if your gonna do it that way then you might as well spend the extra 50-70bucks and buy a set of ARP rod bolts for the stock LS rods. take the rods and new rod bolts to a good machine shop to have them installed and have them measured/honed after the new bolts are pressed into place.

they will handle over 300hp. it's been done many times.
