Default rod/piston question

from the searches ive done its quite evident that stock ls rods with arps are fine for ls/vtecs whether they be all motor or forced induction as long as tune is good and you dont get too crazy with boost or rpm. question is, for people that are using stock ls rods, how many miles were on the ls rods when you started running ls vtec. the reason i ask, is i have a ls rod and piston combo with 160,000 miles on them and are out of a 1990 b18a. to me it wouldnt make much sense that the rods/pistons would have a service life. I would think that they should go for a long time. the rods will get arps and new bearings and pistons new rings. do i need to get new pins? pistons skirt/ringland/crown look good. is this piston/rod combo a ticking time bomb because of the high mileage? i do have a set of eagle rods but i dont have the money for pistons. i have heard that rocket on the board can modify the rods to accept a stock piston. should i just do this? i will be using the ls rotating assembly in a gsr long block. i have everything to get the motor running accept aftermarket pistons. rods/rod journals look fine as well. i am just getting impatient and want to get this new motor combo running. thanks for any advice

If you don't plan to rev past 8200 rpms you'll be coo.
