Default is this rod knock?

bought a used block from some jackass. he said the oil pump was going out and everything else was fine. he didnt say it already was dead and busted.

same guy that is selling a white 2 door civic claiming that its in perfect condition, and then told me that the oil pump is going out on that one too when i met him in person.

i really didnt want to spend any extra cash on this engine and was hoping that it would work for few months untill i swap the gsr in it.
i bought a new water/oil pump, complete gasket kit and t belt, spark plugs, etc. pretty much everything except the rings and bearings.

today i finally put it all back together and started the car and here it goes
( the header is smoking because its oily.

Sounds like it could be. Just take off the oil pan to verify for sure.

**** this is gay. 2 of the bearings are completely shot.

is there anything i can do to make it run for few months?

the crank and rods are toast anyway, i just want it to drive so i can get it out of my friends garage.

i know how people feel about sandpaper to the crank and i know that i should do it right but at this time i have no choice but to get it running and quickly.

can i clean off the bearing metal off the crank and get new bearings would it run for a month or two?

because i would have to find another crank pull the whole engine out again to replace the crank spend another 150-200 dollars on this ****. i dont have time or money to do that.

can anyone give me some advice?

theres some b15d2 engines there. im assuming the crank is same.

but then its another 100 for bearings and 2-3 days of taking **** apart again.

would i be able to reuse the bearings that are in the b2 engines if i get all of them?

at least main bearings? this **** is turning into a headache instead of project.

Buying another used block is probably your fastest and easiest route.

hc was double the limit and CO% was over 10 when limit is 1.3
