Which Ring is the top and which is the middle?
I bought a set or arias pistons and i want to put the rings on but i cant figure out which is the top and which is the middle. They didnt come with any instructions and ive spent over an hour searching and i cant find the answer. One of them looks kinda carbon coated and is a dull black color. That one is beveled on the inside. The other one just looks like steel or something. I dont know which of them is the top and which is the middle. Thanks for the help.
Unless its a custom piston piston setup the rings should be to different heights. The top ring should be 1.0mm and the second should be thicker at 1.2mm.Only one of them should even fit in the top groove. The top ring will install with the inside bevel up if it has one.If it has a dimple or lettering/numbers they should face up.The second ring bevel should face down if it has one,and the dimple/letters/numbers should face up.

Both rings have a dimple on them so i think that stide goes up but i cant really tell which ring is the top and which is the middle. They seem to be the same thickness and fit well in each groove.
With the dimples facing up the second ring will have the bevel on the inside facing down. The top ring with the dimple facing up will have either the bevel facing up or no bevel at all.The shinny ring should be the top ring and the dull one should be the second ring. Hope this helps
