Default Ring gear in tranny, how low is it supposed to be?

I put the new differential in and it sits about an 1/8th of an inch higher than the case. is that normal or it is supposed to be flush? Also could it be that the bearing im using are wrong? They are supposedly type R bearings the part number is 91005-P80-E31. Are those the right bearing for a b16? Help its been 2 weeks with the tranny off and all apart and I'm dying to finish this already.
