ok well.. today i was gettin on I-5 and i decided to give it gas gettin on the freeway in 3rd gear. i wanted to take it up to like 7500 rpms like ive done 500 times before.. but it redlined at like 6200rpms. i almost hit my face on the steering wheel because it was so unexpected lol. i brought it up to 8000rpms on my way home. no problem.. so heres the question. do chipped p28's sometimes do that or am i having a different more serious problem...

Distributor might be going bad or you have a grounding issue.

 

when u say a grounding issue would that be the MAIN battery ground or 1 of the many under the hood and under the dash? thanks for your help. ill get the parts to rebuild my dizzy.

 

could have hit boost cut cuz it was in a taller gear.

 

boost? is vtec considered boost?

 

ive had a mugen chipped p28 for my b16 for about 4 years and ive never experienced that problem with it
