p28 problem....
I recently bought a chipped p28, the problem is that it look like the ecu have its own brain. I intalled a chip that i bought a while ago wich rev limit is set to 9000rmp. When I drive the car the rev limit is 7800rmp, I decide to try three different chips with different basemas and no matter what chip I install in the freaking computer it still rev limit to 7800rpm it look like is running the same basemap continously no mater what chip is in it. Does anybody knows what is the problem or why is doing this?? thanks.........

maybe its chipped but someone disabled J1? making it run on internal ROM. but reving to 7800... stock p28 don't rev that high, maybe the gauge is inaccurate.
you say there are no differences in each chip? is that just the rev, or how it drives also?

check to make sure J1 is not cut, id imagine it is and you stuck running internal rom. needs to be jumped to run external rom.

open up you ecu... with the plug side to your left, at the bottom right corner of the ecu, where you put in the chips... just above the chips are a few resistors, marked on the board is J1. it needs to be jumped (connected) in order to run external roms. sounds like yours is disconnected

You are right, one of the side jumper is loose. I will have it welded tommorow and re-tested again. Hopefully that is it. I'll let you know. Thanks.

Ok, I tried the ecu after fix the jumper J1 and looking for anything suspicious, but everything look right. It still doing the same ****. Is there anything else that I might check before use my hammer with it? There is no cel when I start the car, which mean the ecu is not fried, "I guess". Any help will be appreciated.

Re: (Relic1)
I have the problem resolve, after checking J1 path and not finding anything wrong, I decide to do it the hard way and make some jumpers from J1 to other location and now the ecu is working perfect. Thanks to everyone that helped me......
