X2 you could have used an OEM and removed the middle layer
However as for re-using a HG that all depends upon who you talk to!
sorry no easy answer to that one

The Mugen 2-layer was/is specifically designed as a 2-layer gasket and is not simply a modified OEM product. I'm not certain if the same is true of the Spoon gasket, but knowing Spoon, it may indeed be a re-badged OEM gasket.

Not a dig at all. The company has long offered quality parts. However, it's no secret that some of Spoon's offerings are simply OEM Honda components that have been touched in some way by Spoon. The company's piston set, for example, is OEM Honda with more stringent matching/balancing performed by Spoon. Other products are similarly re-badged, albeit from different manufactures. The SW-388 wheel is a re-badged Desmond Regamaster in a unique finish, the Spoon seats are/were essentially identical to those sold by Vision, the Spoon cams and cam sprockets were made for them by Toda Racing and were very similar to corresponding Toda products, etc...
Again, this is not new information, nor should it be construed as derogatory. It's simply meant to demonstrate that Spoon's 2-layer gasket could indeed be a repackaged, modified OEM piece.

I think you're reading far too much in to it. I was simply explaining the comment since it seemed to be causing confusion. I'm not sure where the horse plays in, or what credit I should be giving?

I moderate the forum? lol
You're right though, the discussion isn't really relevant to your original question. To be honest, it will probably seal fine (you may want to use some copper spray on it for extra insurance), but there is really no way of saying for certain.
