Does Spoon tell you to use copper spray (only when raising your comp when using a turbo? lol)?

I'm sorry I don't fully understand your reply, could you rephrase?

I asked if Spoon recommends the use of copper spray. I would hope that for the price of Spoon products they should work right out of the box.

Second question...are you using this on a turbo car?

With spoon gaskets you dont need to coat them.. they are already like nitrate coated..

He probably has a cheap 3 ply honda gasket that is taken apart and is using the middle..

If so then yes coat both sides with a few coats of copper spray and let it get tacky then install. That will blow if you plan on using it on a turbo motor

no spoon did not recomend it, my idea for better sealing?

I have a b18c5 with je 9:1 and I want a little more compression and when my machine shop cc'ed it it was at 8.75... :1 with the stock 3 ply, now it is at 9.35:1
with the spoon gasket and .015 mill. ?????

High compression and boost is a great power making combination, but it's hard on the motor and stock Honda engines just aren't up to the challenge.

Wait until you get iron cylinders along with forged rods/pistons to raise the compression.

As I stated in my previous post, my bottom end is fully built, minus the sleeves
(JE forged slugs and eagle rods)
The compression ratio is a conservative 9.4:1 and I do't plan to boost more than 10-12psi

My original question is whether or not to coat both sides of the head gasket with copper spray or not at all.

Also I have been told that the spoon gasket seals better than the oem one???
