Default Retune for different state? necessary?

I recently purhcased an sc300 from FL and was told to retune in WI to make up for climate differances. I don't see how that would effect anything. I will only be driving the car spring/summer/fall in temps around 50 at the lowest. Any input?

Altitude...Florida is about 1 foot above sea level.Humidity is probably a little different in the summer.

So when the car is dropped off I won't be able to take it for a spin?

If it is setup closed loop it should drive ok.If you experience drivability issues a new tune will most likely take care of them.

Closed loop is a new term for me could you please define it? I am more worried about engine failure damage, is that would I will experience or will it just run like ****?

You can set up hondata and most other systems to run closed loop (using o2 feedback for corrections) or open loop which only uses the map to make adjustments. You shouldn't do any damage to the car by not retuning it.But use your good judgment. If it's idling poorly or hesitating get it tuned.

Thanks NJIN BUILDR, you calmed my nerves. I wasn't wanting to have to recieve the car, push it into the garage, and then trailer it to get a retune in the spring. I will be going with a better management system in the spring but I would like to drive it before that.
