Default resurfacing rotor

i need to resurface my rotors, and helms says i need to use an on car lathe. to do that i'd need to take my car into the shop and let them do that, and i want to do it myself. would it still work if i took the rotors off and took them to my buddy's shop for resurfacing? or is there some reason why it needs to be done on the car?

do i just need to pull the rotor off, or do i need to pull the hub off as well? it's a prelude, if that makes any difference.

When I bought my car, I found that the rotors had actually been "staked" onto the hub, which will most likely present a serious problem when I need to swap the rotors. If you car is new and hasn't been messed with, you shouldn't have too much of a problem.

No... You can have then resurfaced on or off the car... It is cheaper if it is off the vehicle do to the ease of (turning the said rotor)...
having a rotor resurfaced on the car??? how is that possible. resurfacing the rotor is usually done off the car by using a brake lathe. the only thing you can do to the rotor on the car is deglaze it with a sand paper, but resurfacing, i dont think so. explaing to me how you would resurface a rotor on the car, i have never heard this theory or tip. i think its impossible to get the rotor perfectly flat resurfacing on the car.
