Resurfacing a brand-new flywheel before installing?
I had a guy I know tell me that I should resurface the flywheel before putting it in. I just wanted to know what people think about doing this, and how necessary it is. The flywheel is a Toda going in the same time as a ACT HD-SS clutch.

All we used to do at the Honda dealership was rough it up with some sandpaper. Some say Honda flywheels should never be resurfced, but I disagree. WHen they are used I would always have it resurfaced. If its new, just give it a brush with some sandpaper.

OK. Thanks eh-body. I just had to make sure b/c it sure as hell didn't make any sense to me when he said it. [rhetorical]I mean, why would you take good material off of a brand-new flywheel and decrease its service life?![/rhetorical]
Why the sandpaper? is it to help prevent glazing?
