Default replacing hub bearings...

I think I have decided to keep my civic knuckles so I can do the fastbrakes wilwood upgrade so I can keep 14in wheels. But I need to replace my front hub bearings, would it be best to pull the knuckle off and take it to shop to have them pressed in? Also would the bearings from any other civic (talking about 5th gen here) work, or are they specific to the model(vx, ex, etc). Only ask that because I know on hybrid someone was selling new bearings for a good price.

Yes, I would remove the knuckles and have a shop press out the old bearing and press in the new. I tried doing this with a sledge once with poor results. (I was charged $15 at a Firestone to press out/press in the bearings.) Conversely, you could get the $99 12-ton press from Harbor Freight!
