Default replacement TPS sensor from Honda

Most people know that to get a TPS you have to purchase a throttle body from Honda. Well, not any more. The 954RR's TPS is the same thing as the civic/teg one. You have to go to a motorcycle dealership to get it...but it's the same thing.

enjoy

Do you know what they are charging for them? A part number would be cool too.

Since there is a "No Tamper" policy on USDM engines due to emissions(such as the TPS), there are rivets to secure the US TPS. If you notice there are star bolts that fasten the JDM TPS to the throttle body. The same method of fastening is used on the motorcycle TPS US or JDM as the JDM automobile TPS, which makes removal much easier. The TPS can be bought straight from the parts counter at a Honda motorcycle deaer, but it is cheaper to find some orphan sohc TPS.

It is good to know if you are in a bind for a good TPS.

Good luck with your ITB project, let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

true, it's usually cheaper to get one from a donor motor...but there are the times when you need one quick...and a GOOD one.

i can't remember the price off hand, but it was under $40 for a brand new part

and the ITB project...the biggest thing is going to be the plenum since it's going to be boosted...

#14 is the fuel pressure regulator

The TPS is not shown seperately in that picture, it is on the far side of the throttle assembly.

On a side note, anyone know the size of those throttles?

BTW, the US TPS is not riveted to the TB. The fasteners are those screws that the heads break off of when they are tight. All you need to do is cut a slot in the top of the "rivet" and unscrew it.

HTH,

even the 954 is reversed. u just have to reverse your signal wires on the tps.

Well, yes it "will" work, like is posted above they are wired in reverse. All Civic/CRX's with DPFI have the TPS that works backwards. So when you wire up the B18, you have to flip the wires around on the plug for the TPS, if you use one from DPFI Civic/CRX. HTH

It takes 3 seconds to rewire/switch the TPS wires.

If you do not have access to another good TPS, the Honda MC parts counter is a perfect alternative to buying a whole throttle body just for the TPS.

Whenever you replace a TPS, it needs to be adjusted. During adjustment it would be obvious that the signal wires need to be reversed.
