Default removal of trim clips

interior panels are held on sometimes with metal V shaped clips that clip onto flat plastic tabs on the panels.

is there a tool or technique to get them off without them popping out behind the panel? or without breaking the plastic tabs?

thanks!

just pull as hard as you can, try prying on it with a long flat tip screwdriver.

There is a special tool you can use. They sell them at Advanced Auto Parts, AutoZone, PepBoys, any auto parts store. It's called a trim clip remover. Honestly though, you can pull them off by just pulling hard on the panel. Just grab the panel as close to the clip as possible before you pull or you might break the back side (cardboard) of the panel.

The trim clip remover comes in a red package. Save the money and yank it off. It really ain't that tough.

Yup, i've never seen any specific "method" to it. Just pull from as close to the clip as you can get and hope for the best.

JB Weld works wonders on the ones that happen to break,... if that helps.
