Default Removal of rust from the header

Don't know where to for sure post this, search but didn't find anything about this issue.
So the question is how to get rid of the rust on the DC header without having to deal with it every few months.

I heard that if you remove the ceramic coating it gets worst.

Send it to be professionally coated inside and out.

If you want to do it in your garage I personally would hit it with a wire brush attached to a drill, then spray it with high temp "thermal?" paint. There was a post about that a while back but I forget now. I wonder if they make high temp etchant primer : /
Otherwise I'd assume it will just start rusting again unless you can get ALL the rust off...which would be hard with a wire brush.

Or, stick it in a parts washer.

Or wrap it with header tape.

I'd like some more ideas on this too, I've got the same problem.

No joke.
soak the rusted areas in COCA COLA for like 30min.
Coke eats up/disolves rust.

And to think we drink that stuff!

you can also use coke to anodize titanium parts for RC cars. all you need is coke and an adjustable DC power supply.

at any rate, since it might be hard to submerge an entire header in cola, i'd send it to Swain in NY and get their white lightning coating. they will prep it for you as far as i know. it's a hair expensive but it's cheaper than getting a new header and it'll last indefinitely. it's not a ceramic paint type coating like jet hot and the rest.
