i own a 91 integra RS, i recently replaced the ignition and would like to just use 1 key, should i buy a kit and try and do the door locks myself (im very mechanical) or just say forget it and use 2 keys

 

Well its really a Choice you would have to make, Do you not mind using 2 keys?, do you really want to go out and buy new door lock cylinders when theres nothing wrong with them?

 

well i dont have the original keys, the prior owners lost them, i would have to replace the locks, what would be cheaper?

 

You can modify the door lock to accept the ignition key. Remove the lock cylinder from the door, insert the key you want to use, and then file all the brass slides down to the body of the cylinder. Just did this on my hatch. Takes some time but works.

 

Its easiest to take your door locks out and bring your ignition key and or cylinder to the dealer and have them do it.


At least its not a sidewinder...

 

how much would a dealer charge me, if its to much ill do it myself

 

A locksmith should be alot cheaper than a dealer.
