Default redline and vtec point on lsvtec

b16 head
gsr cams
i/h/e

Where should i set my vtec point and redline? What do you guys set it at for your lsvtec's? And whats your setup?

*A dyno will be needed to figure both of these accurately but, I can give you my .02*

1) GSR cams vtec @ 4700

2) I would set the limiter @ no higher than 8K due to the stock B18b bottom end(power won't be made much higher anyway). You'd be pissed if a rod bolt said, "peace out". So, be smart and safe.

i just went to the dyno not too long ago with a ls/vtec and it stops making power at 7500 rpm

i'm going to be putting my ls/vtec turbo on the dyno soon, adding a turbo extends the torque/hp range but i'm still planning on cutting it off around the 7800-8000 rpm range. I'll be engaging vtec some where between 4300-4700 rpms depending on the dyno results. if you engage vtec too early you'll actually drop in hp before it pics back up

i had my lsvtec since 01
during the first year and a half it was revved to 8400 gsr ecu
then i got and itr ecu then it revved until 8700
and now i have a kenji with 8900
and it gets revved up there to the limit all the time
i also have ctr cams in it
with the chipped ecu
and a completely stock bottom end

its up to u where u want to rev at
i had complete faith im my mecanic so i rev the hell out of the motor

just make sure ur up to par with your maintence
i have new itr water pump, timing belt. and oil pump

haha nuts! i think ill just stick with vtec @ like 4800 and redline at 7800.. sound good? wheres your vtec point at?

Because the low cam lobe will start to fall off(power) a little before that point.

my vtec comes in at 5300 and i rev limit at 10K, and yes i hit it. (take it i spent over 4K in building the **** out of it and i dynoed it still makin hp up till 9200) next time im at the dyno i'll be sure to video it this time

My VTEC kicks in at 5600, dyno sheet looked OK so I didn't **** with it. I keep the redline at 8-8100 because I stop making power at around 7900-8000. Running a set of billet webcams.

5 angle valve job, port and polish, skunk 2 sodium nitrate coated valves, titanium retainers, dual titanium springs, jun 3 intake cam, skunk 2 stage 2 exhaust cam, brass valve guides
