Default redline?

what kind of a redline can i safely use with a gsr, b16 duals on the exhaust side, Ferrea Ti valves, Skunk2 Ti retainers, either type r or Skunk stage1 cams? i can guess pretty close, so please dont throw out a number if you arent sure. thanks in advance.

Why don't you just bite the bullet and get some skunk2 springs? or ferrea springs?

That way you might be able to rev as high as you NEED....notice i said NEED.

because the higher the spring rates, the more the friction. if they are stiffer than i need, then i lose power to friction. hence the Ti valves Vs SS valves and high pressure springs.

FYI the friction you speak of is minimal. inspecting some skunk2 st2's that were in a 13:1 gs-r engine with omnipower valves, springs, & retainers for ~25,000 miles, they looked almost new. sure, you could see where the cam followers meet, but there were no grooves, abnormal wear, etc.

i'd guess that your engine would fall apart at around 10,800-11,400 rpm's,

but depending on your head's flow capability, your cam profile, your displacement, and your compression ratio, you just need to shift like 200 rpm's after your peak hp

so, say, 9500 should be safe as long as its not a daily occurence? and im not so worried about the wear as much as getting the max amount of power i can while not giving up much in the way of safety. if i can go 10k+ on stock duals, then why would i want to lose a couple of horses to friction for S2 springs? esp since its doubtful i will continue to make power higher than 8500-9k more so with an intake manifold. 9500 would probably just be an occassional stretched shift. normal shifting would be like you said, a couple/few hundred past peak, depending on how fast it dropped off.
