rebuilding and nitrous.....???
my 94 gsr has 125K on it and it's time to rebuild her this summer....from the block up. I'm gonna change pretty much everything but the crank (balanced and polished)...now my question is, what should I use parts wise if I want the motor to handle a 65 shot of zex? Can I just rebuild her with all oem parts the ground up or should I upgrade to an aftermarket line? Any help is appreciated....
wet shots supply more fuel too, not relieing on the stock fuel fuel system to deliver the exra fuel that you will need while spraying. this will help keep your from runnign lean... running lean causes motors to blow up which = bad
To really set your motor up for nitrous I wouldn't go with a Zex kit... They are made for more stock motors... Dry is very simple and doesn't give you the best power output.... I would send your block out to Golden Eagle http://www.goldeneaglemfg.com/sleeves.htm have it sleeved up a couple mm's, go to 83mm then you have basically a 1.9L motor... Get some slugs around 10.0-10.5:1 with some rods (Eagle or Crower will work fine)... Send the head out to Portflow... Assemble it, break it in..... Then setup a wet system on it with Hondata... I don't really work with nitrous... more with NA and turbo but I would think you should easily be able to run 100-125 nitrous on it safely.... If you have some money I would just go turbo tho.. My friend's EK with a similar setup to this one except with lower compression pistons and 22psi pushes 505whp to the ground and is daily driven...
