Default Reasons for overheating on '90 RS

My GF just stopped by and her coolant is boiling in the reservoir.. the fan on the drivers side is currently on. I am not familiar with how hondas work but she was driving around with the AC on for a little bit today and it is almost 100 out. I would assume that when you use the AC the fan on the passenger side should be on all the time? Is this not right?

Once it cools down I am going to check the coolant to see if I can tell what mixture she is running and see if she needs a coolant flush. Other than that I don't know what else I could do to fix her car from overheating while running AC if anyone has any ideas.

flush the coolant sys. then see what happens. if there is a milky kinda residue coming out of the radiator its more than likely a blown head gasket. same thing was happening to my gsr trurns out it was the head gasket. i could run it for a bout 5 min then the the water in the res. would boil. but goodluck

I doubt her head is warped because the needle only got 3/4 between the way from c to h. Prolly just needs a coolant flush I am thinking but we will see.

gator 65 has a good point , if that checks out try
-checking fan switch relay
-check the temp sending unit

if it was as hot as you described both fans should be on not just the AC one (driver side)

first do a flush, next change the thermostat, radiator cap, and add new coolant.very easy and simple to do.try it.

will see what I can do this week, drove the car with AC on tonight in 80* weather and it runs awesome and was not overheating.... have to double check because I don't think both fans are running with AC and with stop,go traffic that is why she got it so hot. Will post up what I find in case anyone interested.
