Default really really need help here.

i have a 99 ex civic with a b18c1 swap. it has been swaped for about a year now. i was out driving around when i crossed vtec and my speedo quit and so did vtec. then on the way home my battery died. so i charged the battery and started the car. ran good till the battery died again. so i replaced teh altinator and still the same thing. if you start the car and then un hook the battery the car stalls. i had both altinators tested and they are fine. i have been trying to figure this out all day and i need the car as it is my dd. does any one know where i can start??????

Smells like your ELD(electronic load detector). Your speedo quit because chances are the 7.5 amp fuse is blown, which feeds the speedo(and tells VTEC its ok to turn on) and other gauges, as well as the ELD. That unit shold be on the back of the underhood fusebox (if I remember my service manual). And while you've got the car ripped down, scrub/clean all your grounds you can find under the hood.
