can you if on a super tight budget put your old rings back i n the motor if the motor has only 12000 miles on it i just changed pistions on my friends LS motor put P30 back in can he put the old LS rings back in please bet back to me i need to know thanks

No, the rings need to seat properly into the cylinder wall, after they do that they cannot be reused (wear).

yeah thats true. you have to hone the block everytime you change them to. honeing it makes a abrasive surface on the cylinder walls to help the rings seat perfectlly.

thanx guys that i what i told him but i was not %100 totaly sure i just ordered ITR rings for the motor so hone the walls and were ready to go

one more thing were doing this for a LS/Vtec (my first) will we have any problems using P30 pistions with the B16 head in a 96 Ls block with valve to pistions clearence problems. Were runing stock cam gears so its not adjustment im worried about thanx again guys for all your help
